Documentary
Documentary footage of a cockfight arena in Manila juxtaposes a video-recorded rap performance featuring the artist dressed as a partially plucked cockerel. In the installation the rooster is seen from the outside and the inside. Simultaneously, the woman performs the real man and the simple victim who bets on the game, though passively triggering the action. Here, a woman enters a man’s world to uncover a complex game of reversals and displacements.
